Dementia Action Week 2022

As part of Dementia Awareness Week - PramaLife would like to share a story from one of their long term Group Members, Jimmy Roscoe.


Jimmy was recently able to share his diagnosis story on BBC South with his supportive wife Carol Roscoe - also a long term member of PramaLife. The couple have been attending PramaLife Groups and Activies for many years now, and with guidance, Jimmy was able to be diagnosed with Dementia.

Getting a diagnosis can be daunting, but we believe it’s better to know. And so do 91% of people affected by dementia -Alzheimers Society

PramaLife is a Dorset based Charity, supporting those living with Dementia and memory loss, although you do not need to have a diagnosis of any kind to take part or to be a part of the Prama community. There is 55 Groups, Clubs and Activities available in Poole, East Dorset, Bournemouth and Christchurch - for anyone to attend whether that is alone or with loved ones.


There is a range of groups that you can choose from depending on what you are after for a weekly activity, you can find them here. PramaLife also offer Memory Lane Groups which are specifically tailored for those living with Dementia or Memory Loss, these group sessions include games, quizzes, reminiscing and refreshments in a warm and friendly environment. Along side our Memory Lane Groups PramaLife offer other Dementia Friendly groups including Sporting Memories, Musical Memories and Museum Memories - Taking group members back in time through the use of music, instruments, photos, news articles and so on.
