We would like to thank Judy Hudson for her incredibly generous donation of £400 towards our Crowdfunding campaign - Cost of Living Support for Older People and Carers.
With match funding from Co-Op, this donation was raised to £650!
Judy said the money was mainly raised by selling her homemade jams.
“I’ve been making jams for roughly 35 years. I started working for Prama Care in the year that it celebrated 10 years. Shortly after I started, I worked for a lovely client for 16 years until she passed, I knew her fees for her care were subsidised, so I decided to raise some money for Prama through selling the jams to, in effect, pay for her subsidy.”
Judy has supported Prama through church services, where she raised money by selling her jams at a stall.
“I still try to allocate some money each year to Prama although all charities are in great need, and I will continue for as long as I can.”
It is people like Judy that have helped Prama continue to build the age friendly communities across BCP.
"We cannot thank Judy enough, it is not just the funding, it is that Judy is always thinking about us and the older adults and carers Prama supports. We support a lot adults experiencing memory loss and other long term health conditions and their carers. This puts considerable strain on their household budgets so with costs going up, many people are experiencing more problems. It is people like Judy who are helping them."
