PramaLife have developed 55+ Clubs, Groups and Activities across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and East Dorset.
At the heart of everything we do, our key aim is to see a world where no one is unfairly disadvantaged or excluded because of age or infirmity and where every person can enjoy life as they age. PramaLife is a Christian organisation, which gives us strength and a clear sense of direction, however most of the people who we employ, volunteer for us or we support are not Christian, however, we all share the same values; Inclusivity; Promoting a positive image of ageing; Provide high quality support; Learning and development; Partnership work; Integrity.

ACTIVITIES SUMMARY
TELEPHONE FRIENDSHIP GROUPS
The Telephone Friendship Groups have been developed out of a desire to support people who may be feeling lonely and isolated, and to engender peer support within communities. Anyone can get involved and you don’t need internet access to take part. It’s an opportunity to speak to other people on a regular basis and might lead to you making new friends or getting involved in new activities in the future.
How do the calls work?
Groups of up to six people will be brought together in the hour long calls for chats of a general nature. People can refer themselves, or be referred by an organisation that supports them. The calls are free for participants (assuming there are no special conditions from their own telephone service provider).
MEMORY LANE GROUPS
Memory Lane Groups are for people with dementia or memory loss (no need for a diagnosis) everyone is welcome to attend. These sessions include games, quizzes, reminiscing and refreshments in a warm and friendly environment.
SPORTING MEMORIES
Sporting Memories Group is for people who are interested in sport - all sessions include a quiz, a sporting news sheet, refreshments and an activity such as indoor Curling or Bowling.
MUSEUM MEMORIES
Museum Memories Group is there to make use of the experience and collections of the Poole Museum - taking group members back in time and share their memories.
CARERS SUPPORT
This Group is for people who care for others - it is an informal group that offers support between peers over a cup of tea/coffee. These leaders also invited professionals and provide information that is seen to be useful to carers.
GARDENING GROUPS
This group is for those who are green fingered, enjoy being outdoors or those who enjoy trying something new - everyone is welcome!
GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME
The Good Neighbour Scheme is run by volunteers who are able to help those with small one-off tasks they can no longer manage themselves.
We are volunteers who can help older people with small one-off tasks they can no longer manage themselves.
What can we help with?
Changing a lightbulb, posting a letter, filling in a form, taking rubbish to the tip, asmall sewing job, walking the dog, re-tuning the TV, and so on.
CARE FOR CRAFT
This Group is an opportunity for carers to bring the person they care for to a session with craft activities at the centre of it.
This also provides the opportunity for the carer to either join in on the craft activities with their cared-for-person, or step out into another area to socialise with other carers in a similar position, get information from professionals or access beneficial information.
KNIT & NATTER
The Knit & Natter Group is for those who enjoy knitting and getting creative, whilst sharing memories and experiences as well as making new friends.
COFFEE MORNINGS, POP-IN GROUPS, SOUP LUNCHES & CREAM TEAS
All of these Groups are for people to come together and socialise over a cup of tea, a nice meal or games. These Groups allow people to meet new friends, catch up with old, and to give people something to look forward to each week!
FERNDOWN CONNECTORS
The Ferndown Connectors Group supports people to 'get back out into the community' by providing a volunteer who will come with them if they have lost confidence by being bereaved, made redundant, having a long-term health condition or any other reason.
TELEPHONE BEFRIENDING
This service is made up of volunteers, supporting people who may be lonely, isolated or housebound. By keeping in touch with regular phone calls, Prama hopes to lift the feeling of loneliness for those who need it.
